Important I am not affiliated with Microsoft, Xbox, etc., and this is my personal experience. If you find this helpful had success and want to say thanks, please buy me a coffee or take a look at my book on Amazon. It keeps this page ad-free. Thank you! I was playing Wolfenstein Old Blood on my Xbox Series X with the Quick Resume option, and when I returned, the game had crashed or was frozen. The Xbox Controller was unresponsive, and the only options I had were to shut down or restart the console. Restarts of the console didn't fix the issue, and ...
I own two (2) HP m-series IPS monitors, the M22f and the M24f. Now that I am working from how for an extended period, they were an essential purchase. You just can't use spreadsheets without a proper monitor. I like that the HP m-series monitors are IPS, very light, and the bezels are super thin. The only downside is that they use a proprietary HP monitor arm attachment and don't have VESA support. Well, that can be fixed! I've successfully added a VESA mount to both my HP M22f and HP M27f using this 3D-printed HP Vesa Adapter I bought ...
Last Updated March 2022 With Apple iOS 14, iOS 15, and iOS 16 as Apple has made further changes to the way the Apple ID is both used, accessed, and controlled. If you have different user accounts for iCloud and a different one for the AppStore such as you need accounts in multiple countries (expats), or you have a separate personal and work iTunes account (privacy), you might be struggling to sign in and out of the accounts on iOS 14. Apple does not make this obvious, but here's you can sign out and sign in with a different ID ...
IMPORTANT 2024 UPDATE Some of this blog post is a little moot given Google, Apple, and Microsoft are now offering something similar direct with the Data Transfer Initiative. Right now (2024), Microsoft doesn't support direct transfer but you can migrate Google Photos to iCloud easily direct with Google and Apple. Apple has a How To/Support article here. If you use Google Take Out, there is now an option to upload the Zip files direct to One Drive (you would then need to Unzip and sort). You can read more on how to connect Google Takeout to OneDrive here. Google Photos ...
Not all of us have the good sense to write a diary as we live through history, and the COVID-19 pandemic is a historic moment. A year on though, reflecting on everything, I felt it was important enough to capture my experience. Not that it's more interesting or worthy than anyone else, but maybe it will be of interest to someone, somewhere, one day. Personally, January 2020 started with a business trip to CES in Las Vegas. There was a lot of talk about a virus, I don't think we formally talked about it as being COVID-19, but there was ...
Update 2022: It seems like TimexPay may be discontinued, the bands are out of stock on Amazon, and the Timex website lists them as a "waiting list" item or "out of stock." I'll update this as I learn more. For now, this blog post should be considered helpful for historical context only and NOT a recommendation to buy. What is Timex Pay? Timex Pay is a contactless payment solution, that works with existing traditional watches, and it comes from the Timex Watch company. Timex has a good pedigree in the watch space, they are a US watch company, have been ...
This Egg and Asparagus Casserole dish is a fond memory from my childhood and my favorite comfort food. I'm not sure if it's all that healthy or good for you, but it tastes fantastic and is a great winter meal. My Mum used to cook this for me, God bless her memory. The great thing about this recipe is given most of the ingredients are canned (except of course the eggs), you can keep everything you need in the cupboard for when you need it. Cooking Time (including Preparation) ~ 40mins Ingredients 4-6 boiled eggs (just a little bit under ...
