The Frontier Secure app is a rebranded version of F-Secure. If you’re having issues with your Lutron Smarthome app, you may need to disable Frontier’s security features temporarily. I’d even argue you probably should just use Windows inbuilt security. But that’s not for me to say… oh I did! haha

How to Disable Frontier Secure Protections

  1. Open the Frontier Secure app
  2. Tap the menu icon (top-left corner)
  3. Go to Settings
  4. Select Edit Settings and approve administrator access
  5. Navigate to Viruses & Threats
  6. Turn off the following:
    • Virus Protection
    • DeepGuard
    • Ransomware Protection
    • Antimalware Scan Interface (AMSI)
    • Web Traffic Scanning
    • Tamper Protection

This disables all active malware defenses. Proceed only if you’re aware of the risks.  Once protections are disabled, launch the Lutron app. If it works, the issue is likely caused by Frontier Secure’s security layer.

This worked for me for a family member, hope it helps someone else!
