A 2025 ask – I’m trying to build something using old Kindles, the 3rd Generation Kindle is ideal or older Kindle touch devices. If you have one, are in the US, and could send it to me, I’d really appreciate it. Preference is for the 3rd Generation Kindle Keyboard but right now, any old Kindle would be great. Just contact me. Thanks.

The JBL Link 10 is a smart speaker from JBL that has Google Assistant built in and I am the proud owner of one. It is also IPX7 rated, making it a great portable smart speaker to use around the home. Unfortunately, JBL has discontinued the Link 10, but they still make other great speakers that you can find here. If you want a portable battery powered JBL speaker with Google Home or Alexa, JBL now only sells the premium JBL Authentics Series. But I digress!

JBL Link 10To reset your JBL Link 10 Smart Speaker

  1. Get a pin or paperclip.
  2. Open the little flap that protects the micro USB port.
  3. Use the pin (or paperclip) to push the reset button for 10-15 seconds.
  4. Wait for the speaker to restart…
  5. You’re done!

Yes, that’s it. The JBL support website has outdated instructions. I think that’s because a firmware update to the JBL Link 10 changed things, so don’t fall for the incorrect advice about holding the mute button.

Hope this helps someone else!
