Guide: How to change the XTEINK X4 to English (Works)

If you just bought or are thinking about buying an XTEINK X4 (Amazon now sell them), it is a great value and very compact eInk eReader. If you bought on AliExpress, it’s likely your X4 came with Chinese firmware. It’s easy to switch the language to English, here’s how:

Selecting English Language on the XTEINK X4

From XTEINK X4 home screen, navigate to and select the gear (Settings) icon.
From the Settings menu, the language option will be the first item selected.
Press OK (this is the right edge of the left face rocker) to change the UI language to English.
You’re done!

There’s obviously a lot more you can and should do after this, if you’re after the best XTEINK X4 getting started guide, head over here. I also strongly recommend replacing the included microSD card with a Sandisk 256Gb card. As the included card (16GB or 332GB, depending on the luck of the draw) can both overheat and fail.

Then get yourself started on Crosspoint (read this post) and make your X4 your own!
