I like my Remarkable 2. One of the hidden features is that there’s a webUI. The Remarkable 2 webUI is only accessible via USB-C, but it’s useful functionality.

Here’s how to access the Remarkable 2 webUI

  1. Connecting a USB C cable from you Computer to your Remarkable
  2. From Settings, select Storage.
  3. Switch “USB web interface” to on (may require you to restart your Remarkable).
  4. Note the IP address it will now display.
  5. In a browser, browse to the full address, including http e.g. http://10.1.9.1 (that’s not the actual IP address, just an example!).

There’s no need to log in to the Remarkable webUI.

All you can do in the webUI is download Remarkable notebooks as PDF. This may not seem like much. But if you’re in a work environment where you cannot connect your Remarkable 2 to WiFi, or where installing 3rd party apps on your computer is prohibited, this is a good, easy, and simple way to access files on your Remarkable 2.

It means you can now download files from your Remarkable 2 without installing the Remarkable app.

Can you upload files to your Remarkable 2 via the webUI? No. This is not supported.

After more Remarkable tips? I wrote up a review of Remarkable Stylus Alternatives, as well as how to hack your Remarkable so you can use the LAMY pen button as an eraser.

I hope this helps someone else.
