Update 2024: I now prefer and use the Notable Utility app and have a guide for customizing Remarkable Sleep screens here.
Remarko is a native iOS app for managing sleep screens on your Remarkable. Customizing Remarkable sleep screens is a fun way to personalize your Remarkable. It’s also a great security add-on – as you can put your name, address, and contact details on the sleep screen. But for real security, don’t forget to also set a device PIN.
I am not associated with the Remarko app. I am not the developer, so please don’t ask for access or where to download it. Remarko is not yet publicly available and is in a very limited invite-only beta. No, I cannot get you on the beta test list. Sorry.
When Remarko is available to download, I will update this post with details.
Remarko should not be confused with the official Remarkable iOS app.
Using the Remarko iOS App on your Remarkable
Remarko is a native iOS app for managing sleep screens on your Remarkable. You will need the SSH login details and IP address for your Remarkable. Remarko connects to your Remarkable over WiFi. To find the SSH details and IP address of your Remarkable, follow these instructions:
- From the main Remarkable tablet menu, tap Settings.
- Tap Help.
- Tap Copyright & Licenses
- Look on the right-hand side under “GPLv3 Compliance”
- Your username will be “root” (no quotes), and the password will be bolded in quotes.
- If you’re connected to WiFi, the IP address for your Remarkable will be located a little further down on the same page.
I will post further details, a full review, screenshots, and an app store link to the Remarko Remarkable iOS software when the software is publicly available. Again, a reminder, I am not the developer and cannot get you onto the beta. Sorry.
Until then, feel free to read my other Remarkable posts.
Remarkable Sleep Screen Specifications
If you’re already using Remarko and want to customize your Sleep Screen, the specs are:
- resolution: 1827 x 1404
- DPI: 226
- file format: PNG
It’s a good idea to compress the PNG file to save space. If you need a free online lossless PNG compressor, this one works.
I hope this helps someone else!
Thanks for visiting!
