It’s now confirmed, Remarkable will release a new Remarkable in 2026 called the Remarkable Paper Pure. We learned about this back in March from a leak by Evan Blass, a reliable source of iPhone and other device leaks. Here’s Evan’s tweet if you’re interested.

It’s been 6 years almost to the day (March 17, 2020) that the Remarkable 2 was announced. We’re well overdue for a new Remarkable 2, as not everyone wants a color Remarkable. Even Amazon has updated the Kindle Scribe multiple times, so the Remarkable 2 is showing its age (low pixel density, no backlight).

The Remarkable Paper Pure is confirmed! Release date is May 6, 2026!

Remarkable Paper Pure – Confirmed Images and Pricing

I have leaked images of the Remarkable Paper Pure and pricing, you can find it on this blog post. The Remarkable Paper Pure will be the replacement for the Remarkable 2. Making the Remarkable Paper Pure the new entry-level Remarkable.

Remarkable 2 vs Remarkable Paper Pure

Like the Remarkable Paper Pro Move, Remarkable was  dropping hints in the Remarkable.com source code. This suggests that the Remarkable Pure is smaller than the Remarkable 2 and smaller than an A4 sheet of paper. Hat tip to reddit user /u/Vijayasingam who also spotted it but did the hard work of building the SVG from source.

Remarkable 2 v Remarkable Paper Pure

Remarkable Paper Trademark

Remarkable PaperRemarkable has always used the single wordmark “reMarkable” for its trademarks, but there’s a pending trademark for “Remarkable Paper” in the US Patent and Trademark database. If it’s not called the Paper Pure, it could simply be the “Remarkable Paper” and replace the Remarkable 2, giving us a standard naming convention of:

  • Remarkable Paper (new 2026 device, replacing the Remarkable 2)
  • Remarkable Paper Pro
  • Remarkable Paper Pro Move

Remarkable Paper Pure

April update, I found the actual model number thanks to a recent FCC search. It looks like the Remarkable Paper Pure product number is 2AMK2-RM12AA, Hardware version number RM12A. The FCC database shows this as displaying in an e-label in Settings > Help> Compliance statements. This was certified in March 2026, with a confidentiality period until August 2026.

Based on the radio specs, we’ll get WiFi 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz. It’s possible this will be a 10.3″ device (now confirmed) – so much more likely to be a Remarkable 2 replacement.

  • RM110 / RM110BM reMarkable 2
  • RM02A / RM02AA reMarkable Paper Pro
  • RM03A / RM03AA reMarkable Paper Pro Move
  • RM12AA (guess) Remarkable Paper Pure

Remarkable Paper Pure Model NumberIt’s possible that the model number or new stylus for the Remarkable Paper Pure is RM04A. It fits into the Remarkable model nomenclature.

The photographs are confidential in the FCC database, but this photo in the database is of a RM04DA which is likely the stylus as the label is very much like the ones you typically see on the Marker packaging.

FCC Database Confidential Remarkable Device

For what it’s worth, the US FCC database confidential filing in Feb 2026, is for a yet to be released device.
FCC ID: 2AMK2-RM12AA. This doesn’t correspond to any current Remarkable device – it doesn’t necessarily mean we’ll get a Remarkable Paper Pure, but it’s a sign there’s something new coming (at the very least a refreshed device). That said, Remarkable requested the device images and user manual remain confidential, so something new is very likely.

I’ve been really digging into the FCC database and it looks like the new Remarkable will have an ARM Cortex A55 chipset, which is a big upgrade even on the “Pro” series.

Remarkable Subscription Changes

No, I’m not talking about the recent price increase for Remarkable Connect. I noted this back in my review of the Remarkable Paper Pro Move, but Connect now let’s you add 5 devices to your plan, so let’s count.

  1. Remarkable 1 (end of life, retired)
  2. Remarkable 2
  3. Remarkable Paper Pro
  4. Remarkable Paper Pro Move
  5. Tada! Remarkable Paper Pure

I’m not sure if anyone would own all 5, I own 3 (the Remarkable 2, Pro, and Move), why would they let you add 5 unless the Remarkable Paper Pure is on the way? After all, Remarkable don’t offer a family plan to share subscriptions.

Remarkable 2 on Sale/Spring Sale – Remarkable 2 End of Life?

I could be reading too much into this, but Remarkable is HEAVILY advertising the Remarkable 2 on Spring Sale ~USD$70 off (even on sale on Amazon). These ads are flooding my social media channels. This feels like an End of Life (EOL) push. As I can’t imagine there would be much of a market for Remarkable 2’s when the Paper Pure drops – as there’s probably a lot of us long time Remarkable 2 owners who are likely to sell and use the proceeds to upgrade. So it’s time to say goodbye to the Remarkable 2.

Remarkable Paper Pure Release Date

The Remarkable Paper Pure has May 6 2026 release date.
